Spirogyra Tank - Mix of Knit and Crochet Techniques

This tank uses a mixture of knit and crochet techniques for a unique look and fit! Perfect for a summer day, or as a layering piece in winter, this tank was created to be your go-to top with a bit of flowy, floaty positive ease. Even better? It’s flattering on all body types.

The Sypirogyra Tank is constructed using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton yarn. Alternative weight 4 cotton yarn works for this pattern as well, but it may not look exactly the same. Note that cotton yarn shrinks somewhat upon first washing, so the fit of your garment will change slightly when washed (recommended before first wear).

If you want to use a non-cotton yarn that does not shrink, or if you are between sizes, consider sizing down.

Sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
Bust sizes: 30” (34”, 38”, 42”, 46”) (50”, 54”, 58”, 62”)
Ease: positive ease of approx. 10" built in on top of bust size (finished garment will measure ~10" larger than bust size in the non-mesh portion of the top)

Model is 5'7" with a 39" bust wearing size Medium (48" finished garment size in the non-mesh portion of the top).

Difficulty: easy (both knit and crochet)

Tridacna Tee

This crochet v-neck tee is perfect for a spring or summer day, or as a layering piece in winter. With a low-cut version for when you want to flaunt it and a higher-cut version for when you want to cover up a bit more, this pattern can take you from a night on the town to a day at the office.

The Tridacna Tee is constructed using medium, category 4 (aran weight) cotton yarn.

3-5" built in on top of bust size (finished garment will measure 3-5" larger than bust size) Custom sizing also provided in the pattern to adapt to any gauge.

Model is 5'7" with a 39" bust wearing size Medium (41" finished garment size).

Difficulty: easy

Ulothrix Tank

This crochet tank uses multiple hook sizes and stitches for a unique look and fit! Perfect for a summer day, or as a layering piece in winter, this tank was created to be your go-to top with a bit of flowy, floaty positive ease. You’ve even got two choices for the bottom portion of the tank, allowing you to customize it to have more drape (but less coverage) or more coverage (but less drape).Even better? It’s flattering on all body types.

The Ulothrix Tank is constructed using cotton yarn. Alternative weight 4 cotton yarn works for this pattern as well, but it may not look exactly the same. Note that this yarn shrinks somewhat upon first washing, so the fit of your garment will change slightly when washed (recommended before first wear).

Ease: positive ease depends on the version you make and is measured in the non-mesh portion of the tank. For the version with higher coverage, approx. 10" of ease is built in on top of bust size (finished garment will measure ~10" larger than bust size in the non-mesh portion of the top). For the version with less coverage, approx 2" of ease is built in on top of bust size, but additional ease comes from the nature of the stitch itself.

Designer is 5'7" with 39" bust wearing the Medium in both versions (43" finished bust size in the higher coverage version, 38" finished bust size in the lower overage version with more ease provided by the stitch design).

The pattern can be purchased and pictures of both versions can be found on Ravelry here and on Etsy here.

The higher-coverage version of this pattern is now available as a kit from Lion Brand Yarn!
